god cried for us that afternoon
on the rocks, if I could be so
selfish; you had your hands
grasping at my empty vapors before
I’d had the chance to whisper
to you.          I see you
                shaking. I know you’re
                hungry and I know
                the temperature of your
                eyes when you lie. you
                said you were lonely.
half-truths are the essence
of symbiotic relationships, your
fingers trailing along my hips,
glacier blue eyes holding me
still. the rapids churned. god
cried for me that afternoon.

he was selfish, too.
i'm not as sad as my poems make me seem
i'm just as used by everyone i trust

one complaint only... God is a name and should have a  capital G, unless plural and deliberately an abject thing like demi-gods

If you need a friend. you can speak to me.

I love it so, so much. So raw and beautiful.

Oh my. My heart churns. Can a heart churn? Apparently so. Beautiful as ever, Maddie. This is one of the poems that makes me want to write it all across my body, all along the walls of every building in sight because it is just so beautiful and I want everyone to read it and I want /him/ to read it and it resonates with me so much I want to tear something out of my chest. You always resonate with me (and, by the looks of the comments on your poems, so many others) so strongly that for a moment it feels like I can echolocate Wink/Razz I do hope things are going okay with you. If the need should ever arise, I'm always happy to flood you with cyberhugs :hug :hug :hug :hug :hug or less overbearing things.
(Apologies if this comment doesn't make complete sense or is a little overbearing. I am very tired and now emotional. Anyway, I love you so. And I hope you are okay. I only meant to show my intense appreciation for this poem, your writing in general, and your existence as a whole.) catching love
