I'm Off On Another Planet

Sun Oct 28, 2012, 2:05 PM
Or something. I don't even know, I'm so incredibly out of it. I'm going to blame it on the stormy weather because it's always best to pin problems on unalterable aspects of life.
I just feel like I'm messing everything up. I can't even write properly anymore. I need to get out of my own head.
I want to maybe go into hibernation for a few months with a really warm blanket and come out when all the little petty stuff has faded away.

Okay.
Also, a lot of amazing writers on here don't get a lot of attention, I'm noticing. Here's a few you need to check out if you have the time (the best way to spend a weekend, reading beautiful literature):

BJMNS A unique writer with a really amazing thought process and even better way of articulating it. (only 1 watcher, you guys ._.) :thumb333414428:
alkaline-earth-11 A sweet girl who writes amazingly powerful pieces.
For ExampleA fist pounds on your ribcage
Over
and over
and over again
And you can't seem to recognize
The deceptive grin upon your assailant's face.
After they leave you're a crumpled heap on the concrete floor
And your heartbeat plays and replays the awful event
Until you realize that you were truly at fault.
All of your bruises are self-inflicted
Like a machine that ran itself down and down
Until it couldn't anymore.
You confess your sin and then do it again
Obsession
Recession
An abscess forms on your soul
And you keep doing it
Again
and again
and again
So that the scars remind you that all of them left
And you were the one who beat yourself up about it.
Someday you'll realize
That it was never you against the world.
It was always
You
Against
Yourself.

cwtspine I don't read a lot of prose. His is fantastic, captivating, and new.
:thumb314796374:
CelestialMemories A lot of people know her around here, because of how incredibly involved she is in our community. Not as many know her for the beautiful writer she is. Her native language is Greek, and I think that is part of what makes me adore her pieces so much. Her words are singsong, and they tell pictures. Even if you already know/ watch her, you ought to stop by and tell her just how amazing she is and how much you love her! (All artists need to be told they're doing something right, you know.)
:thumb328179886:

Finally.
I'm selfish. I need some more music to listen to. Please send me your favorite songs, and I will love you eternally. Since I'm running out of inspiration, if I like it enough, I may even try to write a poem about it.

Alright, end ramble. Love you guys :iconbigheartplz:

This piece of the playlist houses tracks all from movies, both popular and unpopular. The songs featured on this playlist may or may not coincide with your tastes in music; however, the movies themselves have a message that the song shows through its lyrics and vocalist(s). All of that out the way, enjoy!

:bulletorange: "Bridge of Light" by P!nk. I remember showing you this song sometime during the early summer, yet I couldn't help but point it out again. This track is featured on "Happy Feet 2", which P!nk also plays Gloria on. Now, do I really have to say anything else about P!nk...her gorgeousness speaks for itself.

:bulletred: "Skyfall" by Adele. In the last few months of her pregnancy Adele decided to bless the public with a beautiful tune (featured in the new James Bond movie) and we all thank her for it.

:bulletpurple: "Lose Yourself" by Eminem.....erm, sorry but you know I had to have Eminem on here...there was no conceivable way for me not to....

:bulletblue: "It's My Turn Now" by Keke Palmer. Yes, this song has been placed on the playlist, a blast from a Disney past ("Jump In") that is both charged (in that teenybopper way) and well-meant; I hope you like this choice.

:bulletblack: "The Prayer" (Cover Version by Charlotte and Jonathan. Just recently I showed you this video but I think it bears repeating. Oh and in case you are interested the original version is: "The Prayer" sung by Andrea Bocelli feat. Celine Dion. The original track was played on the Disney movie "The Quest For Camelot" (1998) [I had no idea about this movie but I must have seen it when I was younger, the song revolved around my head for years!]

Note: The latter link may or may not be the original song, it has been covered many, many times by popular artists.

:bulletgreen: "I Like Myself" ("It's Always Fair Weather" (1955)), "Singing In the Rain" ("Singing in the Rain" (1952)), "Newspaper" ("Summer Stock"(1950)) all by Gene Kelly. The last song is not track with lyrics however, Kelly is genius, I couldn't not feature him and his amazing songs. :)

:bulletyellow: "Cold Summer" by Seabear. I am sure you remember this song but I couldn't resist including it on the playlist. The track is from the movie "Kammerflimmern"...I have no idea what that means in English...

:bulletpink: "I'll Drown" by Soley. This song [as far as I know] has not been featured in any movies; however it is just so beautiful that I had to place it in at least one section of the playlist series. Actually, I believe I showed this track to a while ago. Ah well, refreshers are always nice. :)

I hope you enjoyed this list of songs. :) I promise that the next one will actually feature songs that hold true to your music tastes. ;P

As for music, maybe try Sigur Rss. He is Swedish I think, and his songs are almost nonsense, but all of them have this aethereal feeling that puts me in writing mood immediately. Google him, or search him in YouTube. :)

That's fine! It is Icelandic words so it would be difficult to spell. :)
The band is so amazing. The singer's voice is impeccable and everything is outstanding...even though I don't understand what some of their Icelandic songs are saying. [i totally think that the one album where he sung gibberish was completely intelligent]

I know what you mean! His sound is amazing, sometimes music just carries a... mood, or a feeling; which I absolutely love because that is what I hope to achieve in writing. Have you ever heard Mars Volta? It took me a little while to discover they had beautiful lyrics, too, because I was so caught up in the intensity of their songs.

Thank you so much! :tighthug: it really means the world to me (:

:bulletblack: "Rest In Peace" by Cloe Beaudoin. I'm not sure I have ever heard a sweeter voice on a sixteen year-old female...That is, barring Amy Lee, Hayley Williams, the Christina trio, Alicia Keys, and Sharon den Adel...

Note: All aforementioned singers will be following. Oh, and the Christina trio is comprised of Christina Grimmie, Christina Perri, and Christina Aguilera.

:bulletblue: "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera. I am quite sure I have shared this song with you before...However, it bears rementioning. Aguilera fills those fragile fractures of my soul. Regardless of her public status, she will always have a place with my heart.

:bulletpurple: "A Women's Worth" by Alicia Keys. Oh Lord, what can be said for Keys? She defines my childhood, I remember constantly playing her CD in the car and asking my parents to turn her tracks up when they came on the radio. Gorgeous beyond mind, body, and soul...Alicia Keys has an unmistakable flavor.

:bulletred: "Faster" by Within Temptation. The band Within Temptation's leader singer, Sharon den Adel contains a passion within her that is a struggle to describe...simply put, you can't. Her band only emphasizes her fervor for life and music; however, they are not hidden from the spotlight. The drummer, bassist, guitarist, and pianist all have visible flairs for music as well.

:bulletorange: "Brick by Boring Brick" by Paramore. Hayley William, Paramore's vocalist, wields her voice with the power of one used to practicing over and over. Well, her practicing paid off. Before they broke up a few years ago, Paramore was (and still is) widely successful, garnering both mainstream and underground accolades....William's voice cracks (not literally ;)) with a whip of unbridled emotion.

:bulletyellow: "I Won't Give Up" by Christina Grimmie. By now, you have realized my fascination for anything dealing with Grimmie and I can deny nothing. Her voice shimmers with the light of a summer sun yet calms like the nighttime's twinkling stars. I tried to give you song that I don't believe I showed you, if I have then I apologize.

:bulletgreen: "My Heart Is Broken" by Evanescence. This song is a rather selfish choice since it doesn't exactly fit within what I know of your music tastes. However, I find it rather mesmerizing and I have spent many hours examining my thoughts and feelings to Amy Lee's soulful tenor (er....you know I have no knowledge of singing voice; I don't know if she actually is a tenor ^^; but you will once you listen). I hope you can enjoy this song as much as I have.

:bulletpink: "Backwards" by Christina Perri. Sentimentalism winds strongly through Perri's music...however, instead of creating potentially awkward tunes, it only adds to their appeal. A YouTuber (like Grimmie) Perri met commercial success with "Jar of Hearts", a single from her debut album titled "Lovestrong.".

Forgive me for the long splurge and the limited selection. I may have time to do another "playlist" of sorts within the next few days. For now, I hope you enjoy the choices!
